We counsel clients on how to select names that meet trademark guidelines, prepare all the filings necessary to obtain trademark protection, prosecute infringement actions on behalf of our clients and defend clients accused of trademark infringement. Trade Secrets

The firm works with clients to help them decide whether to use a patent to protect their idea or to guard their valuable business ideas through the law of trade secrets. Hankin Patent Law will prepare an appropriate non-disclosure or confidentiality agreement, as required to protect any trade secrets and will handle all litigation related to the suspected disclosure of any trade secrets.

Local Counsel in Los Angeles

Hankin Patent Law regularly acts as local counsel in Los Angeles, California and the surrounding areas for national and international companies with Intellectual Property matters within the jurisdiction. Marc E. Hankin has long enjoyed this work, and draws on his post-Law School Clerkship to supplement his training at Penn Law School in parsing and understanding Local Rules and Judge’s Standing Orders (“local-local rules”), thus enabling Mr. Hankin to have become an expert on the complex and convoluted Local Rules of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Hankin has taught several classes on the Federal Rules and the C.D. Cal. Local Rules, including having taught some of the Judges of the District through the auspices of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association, of which he used to be the Program Chair.
